Discipleship Communities
“I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. - John 13:34-35
We have a command from Jesus to love our Christian brothers and sisters.
This command demands relationship. It demands love. When it is obeyed by disciples of Jesus, the world will see what it means to know him.
In order to help Christians step into this kind of God-glorifying community, we have established Discipleship Communities in our church.
We define Discipleship Communities as Growing Families of Grace.
We are growing! God is growing us up into maturity, making us into the men and women he created us to be by his Spirit. We are also growing numerically, reaching out to the lost so that they might become part of our family.
We are family! God is our Father! We are brothers and sisters! This can only become meaningful as we experience it in real life through lives of prayer and community.
We need grace! None of us have it all figured out. We need the grace of God for the forgiveness of our sins and the foundation of our friendships.
These groups are meant to be channels of grace so that we can remind one another of the love of God in our daily lives.
